Who is eligible to participate?
The competition is open to students, researchers, and practitioners worldwide.
Awards
What awards will be provided?
The top 3 teams will receive Certificates of Achievement issued by the IEEE ITSS ET3 Committee.
Evaluation Dataset
How is the evaluation dataset handled?
The remaining 30% of the dataset is withheld by the organizing team as a hidden test set. This hidden evaluation set is used to evaluate submitted models consistently and help ensure fairness across participating teams.
Model Types
What types of models are acceptable?
Participants may use traditional car-following models, machine learning methods, deep learning methods, hybrid approaches, or other appropriate modeling techniques.
Leaderboard
What time zone is used for the submission and update time shown on the leaderboard?
All submission and leaderboard update times are displayed in U.S. Central Time (America/Chicago).
Final Code and Docker Submission
Who needs to submit the final code and Docker package?
Top 3 Teams will be contacted by the organizing team and asked to submit materials for final result verification. The organizing team will review the submitted materials and re-run the model before formally confirming the final Top 3 teams.
The required materials include:
- Source code
Dockerfilerequirements.txt- Model weights
README.md- Final submission file
- Method description
- Team member information
Final Ranking and Ties
How are ties among the Top 3 teams handled?
If a tie occurs among the Top 3 teams based on the three-decimal displayed Final Score, the organizing team will use the Final Score calculated to four decimal places to determine the ranking.
Certificates
Will participation certificates be issued?
Certificates of Achievement will be issued only to the final Top 3 teams.
Individual certificates of participation will not be issued to other teams. The organizing team will send a follow-up email thanking participants for participation in the ET3 Challenge. Final team rankings can be found on the official leaderboard.
Late Submissions
How will late submissions be treated?
Submissions received after the official challenge deadline are not included in the official final results or ranking.
The organizing team may still evaluate a late submission for the team’s reference, but the result will be considered unofficial and will not affect the final leaderboard or awards.
